Our story

The Nordgröna story began during a rainy hiking trip in northern Sweden, where a university student used reindeer moss to keep his tent dry as the ground was soaked from the downpour.

This simple yet effective solution sparked new ideas and raised a series of questions: How does moss grow and function? What makes it different from other plants? Could it help us reconnect with nature? What else could it be used for?

Intrigued by these questions, the student, Sander Oudendijk, brought it up with his twin brother Joris Oudendijk and friend Oscar Pressfeldt. Together, the three friends spent their remaining university years building a unique company from their dorm. They are no longer students, but ten years later, their curiosity still drives them to ask too many questions. Today, they work with world-renowned designers while also developing and producing their own designs, and Nordgröna’s innovations are transforming everyday environments around the globe into more sustainable, personal, and vibrant spaces.
